Dr. Tien Huynh
Dr Tien Huynh is a passionate and dedicated obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience, delivering more than 10,000 babies. She graduated from the University of Sydney and completed her training at Westmead Hospital.
She was the Clinical Superintendent of Westmead Public Hospital in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has been the head of the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Westmead Private Hospital since 2015.
Dr Tien Huynh is bilingual and can consult in both English and Vietnamese.

The first appointment will be between your 8-10th week of pregnancy.

First scan is often a dating scan to confirm the correct gestational age. This is followed by First trimester screening or viability scan in conjunction with the Non-Invasive Prenatal testing. A Morphology scan is performed between 18-20 weeks and growths as required further into the pregnancy.

Essential blood test required will be a full blood count, Iron studies, thyroid function and Vitamin D levels and blood group and antibody status and oral glucose tolerance test
Blood testing for immunity will include Varicella (chicken pox) Rubella, Hepatitis B, C and HIV and a urine collection to test for infections

• Ultrasound reports, blood test results and any other relevant information

The first step would be to contact your GP for an appointment and from there you will be given a referral.

Yes, if you think you’re pregnant or have had a positive pregnancy test please visit your GP initially and request a referral during your appointment.

Every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then we will have fortnightly appointments until 36 weeks followed by weekly appointments until delivery.
